Coastal Seminar Series 2015 – Prof. Colin Woodroffe

We are pleased to present a talk by Prof. Colin Woodroffe (School of Earth and Environmental Sciences, University of Wollongong, NSW, Australia):
“Sea-level change and shoreline response: the past as a guide to the future of our coasts.”

Colin will be discussing if ‘the present is the key to the past’, can the past be a guide to the future? Building on observations of past sea level, as summarised in his recently published book ‘Quaternary Sea-Level Changes: A Global Perspective’, he will discuss important lessons about the response of coastlines to changes of sea level at different temporal and spatial scales using illustrations from the sandy coasts of southeastern Australia.

The talk will take place in Building 07/3027 on Thursday 08th Oct, 2015 at 18.00.
The University of Southampton Highfield Campus is located at University Road, Southampton SO17 1BJ.
