Analysis of Typhoon Haiyan Storm Surge

The Disaster Prevention Research Institute at Kyoto University produced this in depth analysis of the recent typhoon which affected the Phillipines. They used models to hindcast the storm and compared this to actual effects.

Maximum significant wave height was found to be 15-18m and storm surge of 4.0-5.1m.
